CAU DEGREE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Graduate in about 3 Years
CAU has no prerequisites to start flying and students begin logging flight hours in their first term of school. Earn a 4-year degree in about three years.
Accelerated Pathway
Through our approvals and course structure, CAU grads can enter the pipeline for jobs much quicker than other candidates, including positions as first officers at regional airlines.
Direct Pathway to Airline Cadet Programs
CAU has partnered with Delta, United, and several regional airlines to create opportunities for our students, many of which include a direct pathway to the airline’s flight deck.

University Advantage
Flight students can take advantage of the university benefits offered by California Aeronautical University.
TIME-SAVINGS
Eligible students can benefit from a 500 flight-hour reduction when pursuing their Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification and receive a reduction in the minimum age for eligibility. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree typically need 1,500 hours and must be at least 23 to be eligible for their ATP. Eligible CAU graduates can qualify for a restricted ATP (R-ATP) with only 1,000 hours at the age of 21.

California Aeronautical University is actively invested in student success. The Office of Student Success provides support to students throughout their time at CAU to help them reach their full potential. Plus, CAU’s Graduate Services Department is available to provide individualized career planning assistance to help prepare students for gainful employment.

B.S. AERONAUTICS
- Bachelor’s degree level fixed-wing pilot program
- Earn private, instrument, commercial, CFI, CFII, and commercial-multi
- Duration: 3 years (approximate)
- 225 flight hours (min), 188 quarter credits
- Eligible for a 500-hour reduction in FAA-mandated flight time for an air transport pilot (ATP)
A.S. AVIATION STUDIES - FIXED-WING
- Associate’s degree level pilot program
- Earn private, instrument, commercial-single, and CFI
- Fast-track program – potential to complete program within 22 months
- 221 flight hours (min), 111 quarter credits
- Eligible for a 250-hour reduction in FAA-mandated flight time for an air transport pilot (ATP)
A.S. AVIATION STUDIES - HELICOPTER
- Associate’s degree level helicopter pilot program
- Earn private, instrument, commercial, and CFI
- Fast-track program – potential to complete program within 1.8 years
- 170 flight hours (min)
- 111 quarter credits
AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY
- Diploma or associate's degree
- Fast-track program – potential to complete program within 17-22 months
